You Capture: Autumn

Photobucket

I enjoyed the assignment this week. I’ve always loved the colors on the trees at this time of year. And when Beth suggested we take a drive and capture something new, I took advantage. It was a beautifully sunny day here last Saturday, just begging for me to head out for a drive to find some new fall foliage. Here’s what I found.

geese
Geese are an extremely common occurrence around here at this time of year. There’s a field near our home where they tend to take a rest break as they fly south (which apparently is around here!), and you can often hear the geese “talking” to each other from our house.

turkey1 turkey2
These wild turkeys were crossing the street. They were sort of smart about it. There were three, and the first one got across, then the second and third had to back off to wait for traffic to clear. Then they hustled right across the street. Cool!

multi-tree
This last shot was in my parents’ neighborhood. I’m there a lot, so it wasn’t a new place to be, but I had never noticed this tree before. I love how the tree is multi-colored!

We’ve had some more nice days since then, and we’re trying to soak up any outdoor time we can, before we start to hibernate for the winter! Check out some more autumn shots over at Beth’s.
