I have about a million pictures to edit from our awesome weekend in Las Vegas, and I’m just not that excited to do it. I’ve been recovering from the weekend, sleeping whenever possible. I haven’t even taken my camera out of the bag since Sunday. I think I just needed a break.
Anyway, the assignment this week was “still life” and it sounded like a bit of a challenge. But I guess that’s the point, no? Since I don’t have much desire to pull my camera out right now, I’m going to take my own liberties with this assignment.
As we flew to Vegas, it was morning, and I had a gorgeous view from my seat in the plane.
As I looked out over the mountains and valleys below, I just kept thinking about the people below, going about their business. I thought about those who may be enjoying the early snow on the mountains, or those who are happy to be down in the valley, away from the snow. Since it was a Thursday morning, I figured many below were preparing for a day at work or school. I wondered if anyone could see our plane, as Noah seems able to do with any plane flying overhead, no matter how far away that plane may be. It’s easy to feel far removed from everything when you’re flying halfway across the country. It’s like your own little world in an airplane. And what I kept thinking was, it’s
still life
as usual down there.
