We took advantage of the 5-Day, 5-County Celebration to get half-price tickets and landed ourselves in the ninth row down the left field foul line. They were pretty great seats, but it was hard for the boys to see from that low. We still managed to have a good time (despite a pretty bad loss to the Braves!).
Caden wanted popcorn, so we bought it before we got to our seats. This was how he spent the first fifteen minutes or so.

And giving us skeptical faces like this:

Bernie didn’t have an opportunity to slide down his slide-the Brewers have to hit a home run for that!

Caden kept eating-and warning us with his eyes!

Noah remembered how good kettle corn is from the previous game we went to, and he and Andy bought a bag of the legal addictive substance. Notice how he’s clutching the bag? An intervention may be needed!

Today the weather was more March-like than May-like, with temps in the mid-40’s and blowing rain all day. Thank goodness Miller Park now has a retractable roof! I’ve turned into a literal fair-weather fan!

We always make sure to stay until the sausages have raced! (Only in Milwaukee, huh?)

I’m not sure what Caden’s frowning about. We really did have a great time!

Andy returned home today from a business trip in India. Yup, I.N.D.I.A. Yikes! He was lucky enough to be there with a man who was born in Calcutta and loves to show people around the country. They spent the day on Saturday in Agra, visiting the Taj Mahal. A-MAZ-ING!

This shows how the towers around the building were built slightly leaning outward so that if something were to happen and they would fall, they’d fall away from the building.

Now I really want to go!
I’ve made it through 1/3 of the year taking a photo every day! Most days are doable, but there have been a few where it’s been a bit of a challenge. Here’s to hoping it stays easy!

So although my dad’s birthday was yesterday, we had to wait until today to celebrate. Better late than never!
The boys and I headed over to my parents’ for dinner-very fancy frozen pizza! And after dinner, it was time for cake. My dad’s cake of choice is spice cake with penuche frosting. (Oh my goodness, try it. You won’t believe how delicious this cake and frosting is!) The boys helped him blow out his candles.

We gave him his presents-a Barnes & Noble gift card and clematis plant from me and my boys, and a tool box, Golf Magazine subscription and candy from my mom. While we were sitting at the dining room table, our first thunderstorm of the season came through. We had some great lightning to watch and some good rumbles of thunder, too. I love a good thunderstorm! All in all, it was a nice celebration.

Happy birthday, Daddy! You’re the best!
Yes, we celebrate half-birthdays in our family. I grew up celebrating my half-birthday (which was last Friday by the way). My best friend’s mom used to make half cakes for us! I like celebrating them for my boys in particular, because they both have birthdays near the end of the year, quite close to Christmas (especially Caden) and it’s nice to have a little celebration and a chance to give presents at a different time of the year.
When Andy called this morning (from INDIA! I hope to have pictures to post when Andy gets home next week) Noah asked him what holiday it was. So cute! I sent Noah off to school, and Caden and I spent time this morning making a half-birthday cake.

(He’s still in his jammies in the shot because he spent a few hours feeling sick this morning.)
We enjoyed dinner at McDonald’s with Grandma and Grandpa before we all headed to the book fair at Noah’s school where the boys each chose two books to buy. Noah really wanted the Lego Star Wars Visual Dictionary, but I made him make a different choice. The reason? I bought him that same book for his half-birthday present!

After the book fair, we all came back home to enjoy Noah’s half-cake.

It was a fun evening!
***It’s also my dad’s birthday today! We had to cancel our lunch plans because Caden was sick this morning. Sorry, Daddy, to put you on the back-burner for the day! I’ll get you tomorrow! I’m looking forward to spice cake and penuche frosting!

Spring is:

There’s more spring to be seen over at Beth’s. Enjoy!

Over at I Heart Faces, the photo challenge for this week is “smiles”. We do a lot of smiling around here, so it was harder to choose a picture to use rather than actually finding one.
But I caught a great shot of Noah during his soccer game the other day. I love the mud on his face, and his silly, toothless grin. It’s one of the most natural smiles I’ve gotten out of him lately.

Put a smile on your face by checking out other entries here.
I’m just wondering what sources were used in determining this letter should come to my house?

I don’t remember giving birth to any daughters…

There was a fair amount of sweetness this past week.
A sweet toothless face (his fourth lost tooth in about 2 weeks!):

A sweet light fixture at the American Girl store at Mall of America:

The sweet boutique at American Girl:

Sweet silhouettes at the aquarium:

A sweet loggerhead turtle watching Noah:

A sweet reaction to a gift:

Sweet first communicants:

A sweet face by a truly sweet cake (which was delicious that night, and for breakfast the next morning!):

Sweet Caden dressed up for Western Day at school:

Sweet blossoms on my purpleleaf sand cherry bush:

How sweet it is!
There’s a lot of sweetness going on over at Beth’s, so go check it out!
She has to make a stop at my cousin’s house this time to deliver yet another stack of quarters for yet another tooth of Noah’s!
Noah’s tooth had been wiggly for a bit, but really got a lot more wiggly today when he bumped it with his knee (don’t ask me how he managed to bump his tooth with his knee!). Noah was having difficulty simply chewing because it was so wiggly. My mom offered to pull it for him, but he refused. So Andy sat Noah down on his lap and told him to just start wiggling.

Seriously, just check out how close this tooth is to coming out! It’s horizontal!!!

Keep working on it…

Keep wiggling…

It’s out!!!

And Noah was able to enjoy a “dinner” of crackers, cheese, 3 carrots, one slice of cucumber, a roll, pink lemonade, a piece of cake, and some ice cream.
We should be on a bit of a holding pattern as his bottom two teeth that should be next are not terribly loose right now. Though that could change any day!
