Fix-It Friday

I decided to give this another go. Mostly I did it because it’s such a lovely shot. I started thinking I was going to make it more vibrant, as I love that red door or wall behind her. But then I tried out a preset on Lightroom (Creative-Aged Photo), and I really liked it!

fixit friday 4-16

I have a lot of practicing to do, but it’s fun to try new things!

From Lying Down

It’s “Team-up Thursday” (or diptych) time again! The theme was “FROM LYING DOWN” and it was a fun challenge.

First, Catheroo’s shot:

Sleepy Penny

Awwwwwwwww!

And mine:

104/365 Cars on the floor

No, I didn’t set the cars up. That was all Caden’s doing.

We’re linked up over at Mental Inventory, so go check out more teams!

You Capture: Fresh

Photobucket

I had all sorts of plans to get shots of my lilac bush that is starting to show bigger buds, or my daffodils (that refuse to bloom, though I think they’ll bloom this weekend-while I’m out of town!), or even my fresh, clean laundry. But all I got was this:

102/365 Sunrise

It’s a shot of the sunrise, the fresh start to the day. I took it from my bathroom window (no, I don’t keep my camera in the bathroom! I ran downstairs to get it quick!). I love seeing that in the morning. Well, I love it as much as you can love it when you’re waking up with the sunrise!

We’re back over at Beth’s this week, so go see what other fresh things you can see!

Yay Catheroo!!!

My wonderful, wonderfully talented sister-in-law, Catheroo, has had one of her photos published! Ironically enough, her photo is in Milwaukee Magazine, which is published by QuadGraphics, Andy’s employer! Go out, get your copy, and turn to page 44 to see her delectable picture of the Midwest Airlines cookies!

She's published!

The tooth fairy is going to be broke

Yup, Noah lost yet another tooth* tonight! That would be three teeth in eight days.

Alt. 98/365 Seriously?!

The tooth fairy may need to take out a loan.

*Turns out it was pushed out by the middle left tooth (you can see the new tooth in the picture if you look closely). He’s going to have big teeth like me! Sorry Noah!

Team-Up Thursday: Color/Colorful

Since we’ve discovered Mental Inventory, Catheroo and I have joined in on their fun Team-Up project. It’s nice to have options for themes! They’re hard to come up with!

Anyway, this week they chose COLOR as their theme, and Catheroo and I decided to use COLOR/COLORFUL for our theme. Here’s Catheroo’s shot:

98/365 - Childhood Memories

And here’s mine:

95/365 Colorful tulips

We’ll see what what grand idea we steal we come up with for next week!

You Capture: Comfort

Photobucket

(We’re over at Keli’s again this week for You Capture.)

Comfort is found on a sunny warm day in early April when you can run around barefoot (I wish I’d painted my toenails before I took this shot!)…

91/365 No foolin'!

…or in a snuggle with sweet Mollie, my brother-in-law’s dog.

Mollie

Comfort can also be found sitting outside feeling the warmth on your face…

Basking

…and while sleeping on your big brother’s bed, snuggling with your favorite Big Blue Blankie.

Caden sleeping on Noah's bed

And comfort can be found with some new friends (whom you’ve dressed as your favorite guys!).

A rough day at the park

92/365 Noah's head injury

To the parents of the little boy (who was with his grandfather) who threw a ROCK at Noah’s HEAD today at the park: maybe some socialization and EMPATHY skills are in order. Kid, when we’re talking about taking Noah to urgent care to get it checked out, no, we’re probably NOT going to make it back to the park today, m’kay? Oh, and while we’re using the first aid kit to clean the cut and stop the bleeding, it would probably be best not to play with the kit and pull out the emergency whistle and start blowing it. Just a suggestion.

(Noah is doing just fine. No stitches needed. It was a pretty superficial cut and just needed to be cleaned and doused with some antibiotic ointment. We actually made our way to another park this evening to meet friends for a picnic dinner. What a trooper!)

Easter egg coloring fun

We did our annual Easter egg decorating tonight. Here are the pictures.

You Capture: Feet

Photobucket

Oh, I love feet!*** That may make me weird. I know feet gross out a lot of people. Not me! I spent the fall of 1997 taping ankles of sweaty Badger football players. That’s a lot of stinky feet!

But I really love my boys’ feet. They’re so cute! I had a good time capturing them for Beth’s blog fun this week. Oh! Speaking of Beth, she’s busy loving up her new baby boy, so Keli is lovingly hosting You Capture for a couple of weeks. Thanks Keli!

We made our way to the park for some baseball, and these are Noah’s fleet feet as he ran to first base.
Running

When Caden was up to bat, I noticed his great stance.
Great stance

My pasty legs got their first glimpse of daylight today when I took to the streets for a run for the first time since before winter. It felt great!
Back outside!

The boys were sitting in the chair together as Caden played on the Leapster. I love how they were playing a little footsie.
Brothers

Then I had the boys do some posing for me. It doesn’t always go that smoothly, but I like these shots.

Here are the family feet. I really need a pedicure!

Finally, I have to include this shot of my cute new shoes. Got them on sale, with an additional coupon. They were supposed to come home with me!
UPDATE: Since I’m getting requests, I figure I should let you all know where I got my shoes. Boston Store. They’re Born Concept Leeza shoes.
85/365 New shoes

Go on over to Keli’s to see more feet. But if it gives you the willies, maybe you should wait until next week when the theme is COMFORT.

***DISCLAIMER: I’m SUPER neurotic about being barefoot in certain places. My own home-okay. Outdoors-okay. The beach-definitely. Dressing rooms-ugh. Locker rooms-UGH. Public bathrooms-DOUBLE UGH! I want to vomit thinking of Britney Spears barefoot in a gas station. But otherwise I don’t mind feet all that much.
