I enjoyed the assignment this week. I’ve always loved the colors on the trees at this time of year. And when Beth suggested we take a drive and capture something new, I took advantage. It was a beautifully sunny day here last Saturday, just begging for me to head out for a drive to find some new fall foliage. Here’s what I found.
Geese are an extremely common occurrence around here at this time of year. There’s a field near our home where they tend to take a rest break as they fly south (which apparently is around here!), and you can often hear the geese “talking” to each other from our house.
These wild turkeys were crossing the street. They were sort of smart about it. There were three, and the first one got across, then the second and third had to back off to wait for traffic to clear. Then they hustled right across the street. Cool!
This last shot was in my parents’ neighborhood. I’m there a lot, so it wasn’t a new place to be, but I had never noticed this tree before. I love how the tree is multi-colored!
We’ve had some more nice days since then, and we’re trying to soak up any outdoor time we can, before we start to hibernate for the winter! Check out some more autumn shots over at Beth’s.
I love the first and last best. Great job.
This is probably the first year that I’ve really taken notice of the multicolored trees as well. Great shot!
These are beautiful! It certainly does look like a lovely day. I can’t believe the turkeys were so thoughtful in crossing the road…I never would imagine such a thing!
Aw, love the webbed friends!
Beautiful colors. And love the wild turkeys 🙂
Great autumn captures. We have wild turkeys are here too and they always make me smile when I see them. Not sure why but they are just funny to me.
Great job capturing those turkeys! I love your parents tree – so beautiful!
I think the wild turkeys are better at crossing the street than I am. Haha! The last tree photo is great. It looks like the color is seeping from the top of the tree to the bottom.
Beautiful photos! The turkey one is really neat. Do you have a log of wild turkeys where you live? And the multicolored tree is truly breathtaking!
i love the wild turkey!
Beautiful shots! Love the geese.
Beautiful! Love how it looks like the colorful part of the tree is peeking out behind the green one!
Those turkey are too funny! And I’m pretty sure I recognize those geese; they flew over our house last week. LOL. That last shot with the gold tree is beautiful.
Truly amazing. I never realized there were wandering wild turkeys. The last pic of the tree is awesome.
Oh my gosh! I’ve never seen a wild turkey!
I love your pictures. Geese are so fun to see in the fall and winter. That tree is amazing. Wow! I love when trees are multi colored like that. So beautiful!
